GroovySoul: Recording

The most exciting feature to GroovySoul recording is the flexibility that comes with our services. Our primary requirement is a single, 110V/15amp circuit (and a dry location!). Other than that, we can record most anywhere! Here is what GroovySoul provides;

  • Sixteen (16) discrete (independent) digital channels of audio input.
  • Standard Definition Video Capture.
  • Laptop computer optimized for audio recording.
  • Miscellaneous cables, head phones, microphones and other as needed.
  • Mixing, Mastering and post-recording services at our mixing room.

    • Here is what you provide;
  • Microphones, instruments, amplifiers, PA's and cabling to our equipment.
  • A location for recording.
  • Electricity.

    Don't allow the simplicity of this system fool you! Our equipment has been assembled to be light and portable but of the highest quality to capture your moment. Our system is design to allow your group to record scratch, final and vocal tracks, on sight during the same session. Tracks can also be added in our mixing room at a later date.
    • Our recommendations for recording spaces are as follows;
  • For recordings for CDs, demo's or web content; it is recommended to utilize a space the group is comfortable with, preferably a worship space or other rehearsal space. If a space is not available, an excellent solution is a local community center. Most municipalities have space that can be rented for an evening for very little money!
  • Videos or Live Recordings; we can connect into the direct out or insert connections on most mixers. Please check with your sound technician or venue to verify this is available. This will give you a recording that can be post-processed and dubbed into videos giving a more professional product. NOTE: GroovySoul WILL NOT accept direct input and send a mixed signal to the PA system! We can however connect you with reputable sound engineers, if needed.
    • GroovySoul proudly uses Focusrite and MOTU interfaces with CuBase on a Microsoft Windows Platforms. Additionally, we use; Izotope Mastering software, KRK monitors, Sony Headphones, dbx compressors, Shure and Nady microphones. Other equipment is available for an additional charge.
